I first met Rachel and Dan at their wedding venue, Morden Hall in South London, earlier in the year and from the get-go they put their complete faith and trust in me. They weren't too enamoured with the idea of having a camera lens trained on them all day but they knew how important it was to get a set of images that would capture the story and atmosphere of their day and so they basically gave me the ball and told me to run with it. And guess what? Come the big day they were both complete stars. I don't think I've ever seen a more relaxed couple on their wedding day. Even when the printers sent a menu for a Chinese restaurant instead of their table seating plan, they just laughed it off (the seating plan arrived eventually!).
Autumn is my favourite time of year for many reasons but for a wedding it really adds that extra something special. Rachel and Dan felt that way too and the theme of the season was a big part of the day. The colour orange was prevalent everywhere, subtle though and not in your face. Leaves surrounded the wedding cake, there were wooden place names on the tables and the flowers gave off a warm seasonal glow.
Love and laughter filled the day and once again, it was a great feeling to be able to stand back and just take it all in and let the camera capture their story.
Thanks Rachel and Dan, here's to you both. You rocked it.
